The Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts contains 132 credits in Major concentrations in Printmaking, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Design and Digital Art, Art Education, Sculpture and Painting. The 132 credits are structured into four (4) components: Basic Workshops, General Studies, Concentration Courses and Free or directed Electives. Academic Information

The Escuela de Artes Plásticas y DiseñoSchool of Puerto Rico publishes an academic Calendar with key dates for each semester and the summer session.

Classes of first semester start in August and end in December. The second semester begins in January and ends in May. The summer session takes place in June.

Instruction Unit

In the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico one (1) university credit is equivalent to sixteen (16) contact hours per semester in theory courses (General Studies and Art Education), and to thirty-two (32) contact hours per semester in workshop courses. A regular academic load comprises from 12 to 18 credits per semester.

Students’ Classification

Regular Program
SThese are the students of the Regular Bachelor’s Program, who seek a degree from the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico. It includes new admission, transfers and readmitted students.

Extension Program Student
These are students who take courses offered by this Program, for their personal improvement.

Open Program Student
These are students enrolled in the Open Studies Program, which provides study opportunities to students who do not wish to follow the curriculum structure of the bachelor’s degree of the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño.

Validation of Studies

The Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño of Puerto Rico will validate up to 60 credits from other institutions of higher education of Puerto Rico and abroad, as long as they are accredited by an official and recognized agency. For more information consult de institutional Catalogue.
